Ocean Advocacy

Healthy oceans are essential to life on our planet. They regulate our climate, produce much of the oxygen we breathe, support countless communities, and provide habitat for an extraordinary diversity of life—from tiny plankton to whales, sharks, sea turtles, and coral reefs.

Yet ocean ecosystems face growing pressures. Pollution, overfishing, habitat loss, warming waters, and changing ocean chemistry threaten the health of marine life and the places it depends upon. These challenges can feel vast, but meaningful progress begins with informed people, strong partnerships, and practical action.

The Brodsky Charitable Foundation supports efforts that protect marine wildlife and the ecosystems they depend upon, from coastal waters and coral reefs to the open sea. We believe that education, conservation, and advocacy can work together to reduce threats and promote healthier oceans.

Ocean advocacy takes many forms. It can mean supporting research that helps us understand marine ecosystems, protecting critical habitat, encouraging responsible use of coastal resources, or helping communities recognize the connection between their daily choices and the health of the sea.

The ocean’s future is connected to all of us. By supporting thoughtful, collaborative solutions, we hope to help protect the remarkable marine life that has inspired so many people—including our own family—and keep ocean ecosystems healthy and resilient.
